  • Learn what idioms are & practice with them
Procedures:
  • U1P3 Pre-test--grade together or collect to grade.
    • Students who earn 100% on pretest can choose alternate W.W. assignment in place of workbook pages. Still due Thursday.
    • Read page 18 together, complete page 19
  • Start “idioms” together on page 20—finish page 20-21 independently for HW
  • Open text book to “A Retrieved Reformation”
HW:
  • Finish WW pages 20-21 due tomorrow.
  • Prepare for U1P2 posttest on Friday.

Tuesday, 9/11

  • Assess use of context clues strategy

  • Understand what the Career Center has to offer, and how to take advantage of them
Procedures:
  • Bellwork: Reflect on events of 9/11, 11 years +1 day previous.
  • Visitor from the Career Center.
  • If time, edit MUG Shot paragraph using notes from previous MUG Shots.
HW:
  • Complete pages 22-23 in WW due Thursday.
  • Prepare for U1P2 posttest on Friday.

Thursday, 9/13

  • …edit grammatical errors to prepare a piece for publication, using proper editing marks.

  • …monitor self-comprehension while reading a new text in class
Procedures:
  • Bellwork: MUG Shot or MUG Shot paragraph while I check HW completion
  • Check Word Wisdom HW (pgs 22-23)
    • Correct answers together.
  • Begin reading “A Retrieved Reformation”
    • Stop to discuss often, using teacher-led prompts
